Double Insert Boring Bars

Siinergy Tooling offers Double Insert Boring Bars. These Insert tools offer cost savings to the user by incorporating three tools in one and opening up a tool station in the indexable turret or tool post for other tools. By using these Double Insert tools, the user can avoid buying multiple boring bars and holders (one designated for OD turning, the other designated for ID turning, and one for a facing operation). Double Insert boring bars and square shank tool holders work by offsetting the right side insert ahead of the left side insert. This creates the necessary clearance for the O.D. turning operations to allow machining up to the shoulder and clearance for the facing operations. For the ID operations the left insert is used. In addition to the turning, boring, and facing capabilities, the two double insert boring bars with a turning insert and a threading insert is available. This allows the double insert boring bar to bore and thread with just one tool. The benefits are that tool changes and tool positioning down times are substantially reduced. The results are more productivity, more time in the cut and better all-round efficiencies in turning, boring, facing, and threading operations.
