Constant Helix Tapered End Mills

The Weldon Machine Tool Co offers constant helix tapered end mills in 10 degrees per side to 45 degrees per side. The design of the company"s three-flute and four-flute, constant helix end mills provides many advantages to the user. It is said to assure freer and faster cutting because the chip is more evenly formed over the entire length of the flute. The constant helix tapered end mill, with its uniform hook angle, is easier to sharpen because the relationship of the hooked tooth face and the support finger remains the same throughout the tool"s cutting length. This constant relationship assures full control over the desired amount of primary relief angle. Constant hook and proper relief are essential for efficient cutting. The threeflute standard tapered end mills have a square centre-cutting end sized fractionally to a minus tolerance so that special end conditions or a full ball radius can be added without regrinding the entire taper. These tapered end mills have improved resistance to both operating side thrusts and deflections due to constant helix geometry. The expanded line of 49 sizes includes specific cutting diameters available in small diameter sizes from 1/8" to and including 1/2" in 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 45 degree tapered per side.
