Precision Abrasive Cut-Off Machine

Uni-Automation has introduced an abrasive cut-off machine with completely automatic operation. This is for precision cutting of copper, brass, steel, alloy steel or non-metallic materials, in cross sections range of up to 40 x 40 mm. Multiple rods or profiles can also be fed through the machine"s holding and feeding device. A thin abrasive wheel of 1 to 2 mm thickness can be used and cutting length accuracies of &177;0.07 mm can be achieved. Perpendicularity of 0.05&176; is possible. The machine operates in automatic mode with a PLC and with cycle time between 7 seconds to 30 seconds depending upon cross section of the job. Up to 4,000 cuts can be taken per shift with no operator control required. When a given length of rod is finished the machine will stop automatically and flash a lamp mounted (alongwith an optional buzzer) so that the operator can feed a new rod. The machine is supplied with a feeder conveyer to support the raw material rods. Sensors are rugged and easy to maintain. Air supply of 5 kg/cm&178; is required. Cutting feed rate can be fine controlled while fast retract is possible. Transparent machine cover is provided to limit dust dispersal. Coolant arrangement can be made if required.
