Mitsubishi Electric, Japan manufactures FX Series CNC wire cut EDM with world crass machining performance for enhanced productivity. The design of the FX Series machines is such that world class performance and superior quality can be obtained at an affordable price. The FX Series has both flushing type and submerged type machines. Anti electrolysis power supply is offered as standard. This feature ensures high speed machining, corrosion prevention, micro-crack formation and increased resin life. In addition while machining carbide material there is almost no reduction in strength due to binder depletion. Motorized Z axis allows setting different workpiece height. Automatic wire threading unit is offered optionally. Travelling column type design allows greater load carrying capacity resulting in improved machining accuracy and space saving design. The machining technology is based on ordinary brass wire therefore operating cost of the machine is low. Maximum table rapid feed speed is 1,300 mm per min. Graphic display of life of all essential consumables is available on screen. Self diagnostic function ensures maintenance free operation. For dielectric fluid refrigerated cooling system is provided. U and V axis are mounted on top of the column for enhanced taper machining. The power feed can be indexed 48 times. Maximum power control feature is offered as standard. This is an adaptive control and prevents wire breakage. Machining time and wire consumption can be estimated. With the help of econocut feature the wire consumption can be reduced up to 40% with no drop in machining speed. The wire alignment can be done in wet and dry condition. The CNC system provided is of Mitsubishi make. This is a 32 bit closed loop system. 14"colour CRT and graphics are provided as standard. Various functions like corner master, fine hole search, dimple prevention, restart, automatic II cut, alarm, wire processing device, etc. are provided on the machine. Floppy disk drive and RS 232C interface are provided as standard. Wide angle taper can be provided optionally.
