Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, offers Model RA9 CNC wirecut EDM for machining of a wide variety of plastic mould punches and dies, and other production part machining. The machine is designed on the basis of greater speed, high accuracy and superior ease of operation. The CNC controller system is 64-bit CPU to support intelligent, high precision machining. Anti-electrolysis power supply is provided as standard. This eliminates losses in machined surface hardness, and also grinding and polishing can be significantly reduced because electrolytic corrosion causes minimal damage to the plastic moulding dies. The PM II optimum power control function detects the thickness of the work piece and controls the machining energy to the optimal level. The machine construction is based on ISO standards. Corner Master II precision corner control automatically improves geometric deviations produced by the work deflection in the rough machining of corners. ST3 circuit high precision finishing circuit improves the straightness in thicker work pieces. With the help of Econocut function, the wire consumption can be reduced up to 40%. Enhanced graphic display function enables programmed operation to be monitored with greater ease. Graphic display of consumable status is displayed on the screen. The machine range (X and Y) is 320 x 250 mm. The CNC controller system is closed loop type. 3.5"floppy disk drive is provided as standard. Ordinary brass wire can be used on the machine.
