Cnc Swiss Type Automatic

The Star SR-32, a larger capacity (1-1/4" diameter) companion to the company"s popular SR-16 and SR-20 CNC Swiss type automatic lathes, has been introduced by Hirschmann Corporation. This model is said to make possible simultaneous front/ back drilling capacity with high efficiency and reduced production time. It is equipped with 18 cutting tool: six turning tools; four crossworking tools; four front endworking tools; and four rear endworking tools. Among the other main features are the following: main spindle one-degree indexing; synchronisation of main and sub-spindle motions; high rapid traverse rate; and fast control response. A new design for the collet open/close mechanism allows the collet to be opened and closed without reducing the main spindle speed. Fast CNC processing is achieved with a 32-bit control unit, while a range of operator-friendly devices includes cutting area door interlock, sub-spindle speed display and automatic zero-return function.
