Abrasive Water Jet Cutting Machine

Omax CNC abrasive water jet cutting machine can cut any type of material including steel, aluminium, titanium, glass, fibre and composite material. A high pressure water jet which is forced through a ruby orifice is mixed in a ceramic mixing tube with fine abrasive material, and is used as a cutting media. The cutting process is three times faster than wire cut EDM and is 3 times cheaper than laser cutting. The machine can cut up to 3 inch thick steel and 8 inch thick aluminium as well as very thin sheets. The machine has a positioning accuracy of ±0.003" and repeatability of ±0.0013" as per NMTBA standard. The computer controlled machine has an integrated CAD/CAM system developed by Omax. The machine incorporates closed loop digital drive, brushless servo motors, pre-loaded ball screws with re-circulating ball bearings and hardened precision ground ways. Other features includes, virtually unlimited programming capacity for long tool paths and complex shapes, built in array of nesting routines, optimal stack height calculator for stacking of materials, high/low pressure piercing for machining tough/fragile material, and auto tool path generation, including lead-in and lead-outs.
