Multistage Back Pressure Steam Turbine

Alstom Projects manufactures Multistage Back Pressure Steam Turbine of multi-stage backpressure type. The ZM series are suitable in low steam conditions and ZM turbines can be applied on auxiliary services, as in boiler feed water pump, fans, cutters, shredders and small generators. The ZM Series was entirely projected for low power applications thereby assuring quick responses to load variations. Its construction becomes easier for both assembly and maintenance work. Features and advantages: "Automatic Nozzle Group Control" features. This is a modern feature, which automatically adjusts the steam flow to accommodate the varying load conditions. This feature also gives better turbine efficiency at part loads compared to "Hand valves", which are an obsolete feature. The completely hydraulic governing system of turbines eliminates the conventional mechanical linkage a design problem area that has taxed the ingenuity of turbine design consistently over the years. The steam turbine is possible to be mounted on the ground floor substantially reducing the civil cost. The inlet flange is oriented upwards and the exhaust is oriented sideward or upward. The steam turbines are a state of the art proven design.
