Carburizing Of Gudgeon Pins

Fluidtherm Fluidised Bed Furnace can now be used for the efficient carburizing of gudgeon pins. Capable of maintaining precise carbon potentials, these furnaces employ short cycle times as compared to other conventional furnaces to produce consistent case depths. The ability of the furnace to maintain absolutely neutral atmosphere during the diffusion cycle avoids the problem of decarburization or excessive retained austenite. A uniform temperature across the entire cross section of the bed helps in minimising distortion. Precisely engineered process cycles produce an extremely hard and wear resistant case with a very good resistance to shock. Furthermore, quick heat up and cool down times, reduced power consumption and the absence of any kind of toxic effluents provide for an economic, efficient and non-polluting method of heat treatment.
