Pulverising & Grading System For Bulk Drugs

Premium Engineers offers a pulverising and grading system for bulk drugs. For example, the material sodium formaldehyde sulfoxinate is produced in liquid form, and on cooling on a flat belt conveyor it takes the form of sheets. The product is required in various grades of particles sizes and this requires a suitable system for converting sheets/slabs into properly graded products. The material is hygroscopic in the sense that the dust will absorb moisture from the atmosphere and will be converted into a corrosive liquid. Hence it is essential to have a proper dust free continuous system till packing stage. The system offered has a pre-crusher, a sealed conveying unit, hammer mill and gyro screen. All the equipment is of SS 304 construction. The pre-crusher breaks the sheets into sizes below 25 mm. The S-type conveyor takes the material horizontally, next vertically and finally horizontally to discharge the material into a hopper. The discharge from the hopper is through rotary feeder for regulating the feed to the next down stream equipment, hammer mill. This has magnet at the intake, which traps any iron particle coming along the feed material. During pulverising in the hammer mill certain level of dust is produced. The dust collected from the mill section is trapped into the cyclone for periodic discharge and collection. A suitable dust collector is provided with nylon bags for collecting some quantity of powders that are not collected in the cyclone.
