X-ray Fluorescence Spectral Analysis (XRF), based on photon excitation of atom inner electron shells and recording of X-ray fluorescence, is one of the most important express instrumental methods of the analysis. Each chemical element is characterised by a set of spectral lines reflecting the availability of this element; while their intensity is directly connected with the element concentration. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy involves measuring the intensity of X-rays emitted from a specimen as a function of energy (EDXRF) or wavelength (WDXRF).

Bourevestnik XRF systems include models BRA-135F (wavelength dispersive) and ASE-2 and ASW-2 (energy dispersive).

BRA-135F X-ray fluorescence energy dispersive general purpose spectrometer allows simultaneous determination of up to two dozens of chemical elements for a period not exceeding 300 s over a wide range of concentrations of hundred ppb. BRA-135F analyses solid, powder and liquid samples, and ones coated on the surface or deposited on filters. In BRA-135F the high efficiency silicon drift detector (SDD) with ultra thin entrance window allows registering X-ray radiation in wide energy range on retention of energy resolution and response. BRA-135F is capable of many applications in cement, metal mining, petrochemical, geological exploration, metallurgy industries and scientific research. BRA-135F features include: range of chemical elements to be analysed – 9F-92U; quantitative analysis by the method of graduation; quantitative and semi quantitative analysis by the method of fundamental parameters; and no special prepared room is required for the instrument.

ASE-2 the energy dispersive sulfur (EDXRF) analyzer for determination of sulfur mass fraction in petrochemicals is according to: EN ISO 20847:2010; ASTM D4294.

ASE-2 X-ray fluorescent energy dispersive sulfur analyser 2 is used for the measurement of mass concentration of the sulphur in unleaded gasoline, diesel oil, crude oil, kerosene, petroleum residues, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, jet engine fuel and other types of cutter oil.

ASE-2 features

• Lower limit of detection is 5 ppm
• Analysis of fuels for compliance with class EURO-2, 3
• A preliminary analysis of fuels for compliance with the class EURO-4, and
• Helium is not required.

ASW-2 WDXRF sulphur analyser is used for the measurement of mass concentration of the sulphur in unleaded gasoline, diesel oil, crude oil, kerosene, petroleum residues, lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, jet engine fuel and other types of cutter oil.

ASW-2 WDXRF analyser is for determination of sulphur mass fraction in petrochemicals is according to: EN ISO 20884:2004; ?ST? D 6334, ASTM D 2622 Analyser ASW-2 allows to measure mass concentration of the sulphur in vacuumised measurement chamber mode, as well as in helium purging mode. For this purpose the instrument is equipped with the set of tooling for the connection to helium station.

ASW-2 features

• Range of determined sulphur concentrations –from 3 ppm to 50 000 ppm
