Wacker Chemie India is an Indian subsidiary of Wacker Chemie AG of Germany. The company is a supplier of silicones for the automotive industry. Silicone rubber finds use in the manufacture of turbocharger hoses, exhibiting high heat resistance of up to 230°C. Silicone rubber also finds use in the manufacture of high-performance spark plug boots and cables that offer reliable protection against water splashes, damp and dirt; in (silicone) rubber exhaust hangers and mass dampers, which absorb mechanical and acoustic vibrations without generating heat themselves, and weather packs (single wire seals, connectors and mat seals). In addition to the applications above, silicone rubber also finds use in automotive components like oil filter gaskets, radiator hoses and gaskets, high damping elements like drive shaft, gaskets, rain sensors, airbag coating, and more.
