Brake Slack Adjuster

Haldex India is a manufacturer of vehicle automatic slack adjusters and manual slack adjusters. The company also produces air brakes for commercial vehicles, automatic brake adjusters for air brakes of commercial vehicles, lining wear indicators, integrated lift axle system, and air treatment products such as ‘ConSep’ (Condenser cum Oil Separators – Electric and Pneumatic) and ‘ADV’ (Automotive Drain Valves). The company's well equipped manufacturing infrastructure includes two modern plants; and a full flash application and engineering development facility. Catering to the Indian as well as export markets, the company lays high emphasis on quality. A part of the Anand Group, Haldex India has a presence in the OEM and aftermarket. Catering to OEM clients like Tata, Tatra, Ashok Leyland, MAN, DICV, Swaraj Mazda, York, Satrac and others, the slack adjuster assembly is used on commercial vehicles having air brakes with 'S' cam shaft. The purpose of this product is to transmit the braking torque to the 'S' cam and facilitate adjustment of the clearance between brake lining and the brake drum, which is primarily caused due to the wearing of brake lining. When the gap between the brake drum and the brake lining is increased due to brake lining wear; the slack adjuster assembly hexagon (adjusting nut) is rotated manually so as to rotate the ‘S’ cam and adjust the gap between the brake drum and lining.
