Portunus Mechatronic System Simulator

Super Technologies offers Portunus, a powerful and easy to use multi-domain system simulator, adapted for the modelling of mechatronic systems involving electric, magnetic, mechanic and/or thermal components. For a general study of a systems' behaviour, or an in-depth analysis of it, Portunus makes a powerful simulator for analogue, digital and mixed-signals designs; circuits, block diagrams, state machines as well as imports of Spice and VHDL-AMS standards; time and frequency-domain simulations, steady-state and operation point calculations; electrical, mechanical, magnetic, power electronics and thermal libraries. Main features of the simulator include an intuitive interface that minimizes the setup time and switches the focus to experimenting and design analysis. While concurrent use of the different modelling techniques offers a true system approach, maximum efficiency can be reached with a minimum of effort with the use of predefined component models from different physical domains. Features also include user components that can be utilized from subsystems, spice or VHDL-AMS imports or even C++ code gives a way to cumulate knowledge and expertise; smart functionalities exist for helping the designer: parameter sweep, user-interaction, worst-case analysis. VHDL-AMS capability: with this IEEE standardized multi-domain language modelling complex systems becomes easier. Software synergy: the co-simulation and imports and scripting capabilities with other software (Flux"', Speed, Motor-CAD", InCa3D', Simulink"...) enable full integration into the design process.
