GKN Driveline India is a subsidiary of GKN Driveline, a global tier supplier of automotive driveline components and systems. Specializing in automotive driveline components and systems, the company offers constant velocity joint (CVJ) sideshafts. Finding application is most modern generation passenger vehicles, the CVJ sideshafts provide significant weight, space and fuel savings. They enable transfer of power from a differential to the wheels, allowing articulation and movements due to steering or suspension travel. CVJ sideshafts consists of three major elements, inboard Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) including lubrication and sealing system, an interconnecting shaft, and an outboard Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) including lubrication and sealing system. The inboard CV Joint, in most applications, is a plunge joint that allows the effective length of the sideshaft to adjust due to suspension movement. In front (or steer) axle applications, the outboard joint must transfer power effectively through a wide range of angles (up to 52 degrees). In rear axle applications, joint operation angles are much lower. The CVJ sideshafts are made at the company's well-equipped manufacturing infrastructure near Delhi, Pune and Chennai. Catering to most OEs in India, the company also has a presence in the aftermarket globally.
