Mahindra Forgings India (MFL) is one of the engineering companies that operate under the Mahindra Systech arm of Mahindra Group. The company is into the manufacture of forgings with an installed capacity of 90000MT. The products made by the company include crankshafts, steering knuckles, connecting rods, stub axles, control arms, links, and stub axles. The company also produces leaf spring saddle clamps, suspension links, control arms, drop arms, stabilizer bar assembly, radius arms, chain links, shackle plates and engine mounting brackets. Having a well equipped and modern manufacturing infrastructure comprising machining infrastructure for crankshafts (130000 per annum) and stub axles (100000 per annum), the company caters to clients like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Ashok Leyland, Benteler Automotive (USA), Renault, Mahindra Reva, Piaggio, Daimler India, Eicher Motors, Force Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mahindra Navistar, Volvo, ZF, Escorts, Same Deutz, V M Motori, Kirloskar Oil Engines and Deutz. Catering to the OEM market, the crankshafts made by the company find use in various internal combustion engines. Crankshafts translate reciprocating linear piston motion into rotation. To ensure this transmission of energy, the crankshafts has "crank throws" or "crankpins", additional bearing surfaces whose axes are offset from that of the crank, to which the "big ends" of the connecting rods from each cylinder are attached.
