Non-Contact Ultraviolet Disinfection

Enaqua was founded in 1985 as Industrial Water Technology, Inc to provide environmentally friendly advanced purification solutions to the industry. The company offers an ultraviolet disinfection process, based on its patented Activated FluoroPolymer (AFPTM) technology. This process allows the disinfection of municipal and industrial water and wastewater without expensive and labour intensive techniques. Enaqua's AFPTM tubing formulation, developed over a fifteen-year period, surpasses typical quartz tube technology for fouling resistance and serviceability. In addition the AFPTM 840 resin far surpasses the life and UV retention of standard Teflon due to its unique molecular structure and processing method. Enaqua and its licensee's are the only companies that have produced largescale (56 MGD/ 210,000 m3/day) UV systems using non-contact APPTM technology. The company currently holds US and international patents on a sterilisation technology for the disinfection of opaque fluids such as oils, juices and liquors. This technology allows treating fluids, which could only be treated with chemical or thermal pasteurisation techniques. The Enaqua surface disinfection instrument (SDI) systems are compact and easily serviced for critical food industry application.
