Vent Silencer

Acoustics India offers Vent Silencer. It is used for control of noise that arise during venting of steam, air or other process gases at a wide range of pressures and temperatures from safety valves, control valves etc. These need to have the ability to withstand the rapid release of large quantities, of steam, at very high pressure apart from attenuating the noise. The silencer is made up of concentric annular acoustic cylinders enclosed in a robust steel casing with one end closed with dished or flat end and the other end open to the atmosphere. The fluid enters the silencer through a diffuser from the bottom closed end, passes through the annular space between the acoustic packing where it loses the sound energy and escapes to the atmosphere. A drain pipe is provided at the bottom to drain any condensate formed during operation. A weather cowl for rain protection and bird screen are provided for the silencer as optional items. Support brackets are provided on the external casing for installation purpose. The material of construction for the silencer is decided based on the operating pressure, temperature and the operating fluid. Carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy steel materials are used based on process conditions. Rust preventing coating or heat resistant aluminium painting is done on the external casing depending on customers" requirement. Maintenance: practically no maintenance is required for the silencer; and for silencers handling dust-laden process gases, to facilitate easy cleaning, the internals will be of removable type.
