External Rotor Motors

Eyyani Electric Machines offers external rotor motors and axial fans. The external rotor motor has many advantages over internal rotor motor, viz., compact in design and hence space saving, less variation of speed under voltage fluctuations, low starting current, better linearity in speed control, speed control either with auto transformer or electronic speed controllers, and above all higher efficiency. The motor has two ball bearings both side shielded and lubricated for life. Under normal conditions, the life of the bearing is about 15000 hours of operation. The ball bearings are to be replaced after the lifetime. Temperature range: permissible ambient temperature range for these motors is from -30°C to 60°C. Motors are also provided with thermal over load protector with automatic rest, which will temporarily shut down the motor if overheating occurs, preventing damages to the motor. Input voltage: these motors are designed to operate either on 230 V AC, single phase, 50 Hz, or 415 V AC 3-phase, 50 Hz motors operating on other voltages can also be supplied on special order basis. Even if the supply voltage comes down by 15% the consequent reduction in motor speed is negligible. Selection of speed controls: these motors are 100% speed controllable unlike conventional motors. Make sure that the current rating of the controller is slightly higher than the rated full load amps, as during speed control, especially in the range of 65 to 75% of full speed, the motor is likely to draw current in excess of the full load current shown in the nameplate. Motor protection: the minimum protection offered for any of these types of motors is IP 44.
