Brushless Motors

Maxon&8217;s EC Series of brushless motors are electronically commutated. Hall-effect sensors are built into the motor to provide feedback to the control electronics. By assembling the motor so that the coils are outside the rotor, good heat dissipation and high overload capability is attained. Diameter is 1.77&8221;, while the length is 5.67&8221;. Continuous output power is 250 W, while maximum speed is 10,000 RPM. Ambient temperature range is -20 to 125&176;C. Using high energy neodymium magnets results in a mechanical time constant of 5 ms while minimising overall size.
