Brushless Motors

Panasonic manufactrues new B3 series brush less motors. These motors come with an integral built-in brush less drive and are available in the range of 30 W to 130 W. The drive supports RS 232 communication with an operating console for parameter setting and RS 485 control for communication with a controller like a PLC for parameter setting. The drive also supports positioning up to 4 predefined positions where the user can define the speed, acceleration and position that can be relative or absolute. The motor has a rated speed of 3000 RPM. The advantage of a brushless motor is that it offers a smooth and wide speed spectrum with better response than conventional induction motor. It also offers a higher starting torque than the conventional induction motor. The positioning resolution of these motors is up to 288 pulses/ revolution. The motor has an IP 65 protection. This motor can be combined with the existing gear heads for the Panasonic new G series conventional induction motors to the give the advantage of wide variety of output speeds and torques up to 300 kg.cm. Applications abound in simple pick and place mechanisms, simple rotary index tables, etc, for a wide variety of uses.
