AC SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS

Srijan Control Drives manufactures AC Synchronous Motors. It is permanent magnet, AC single, phase motor having instantaneous starting, stopping and reversing characteristics. These three lead type motors require only a single pole, three position switch - "Forward", Reverse" and "Off Controls. Starting and running currents are same, so there is no excessive rise in current when these motors are energised. These motors can be completely stalled without overheating. Starting and stopping is accomplished in less than 5° of shaft rotation, eliminating the need for any brakes. Torque is directly proportional to rms voltage and ROM is directly proportional to supply frequency. Phase shifting resistors and capacitors must be used while operating these motors from single phase supply. However, it is recommended to use two phase transformer for higher torque. It is possible to run two or more motors in synchronisation with each other if the angular difference can be tolerated to 3.6°. Flexible coupling improves starting torque. Features: instantaneous starting, stopping and reversing characteristics; low shaft speeds 60 RPM at 50 Hz; rotor can be locked magnetically by DC voltage; no burnouts due to locked rotor; and can be over driven without any damage.
