Single-Axis Drive/Indexer System

Parker Hannifin Corporation, Compumotor Division, has introduced the ZETA6104, a new drive/indexer microstepping system. Featuring all of the I/O points, RS232C/RS422/RS485 control, operator interface options and following capabilities necessary for state-of-the-art single-axis motion control applications, the ZETA6104 includes the following package that can perform phase shifts, electronic gearbox and flying cutoff functions with ease. For multiple-axis applications, up to 99 ZETA6101s can be daisy-chained to work together, or up to 32 ZETA6104s can be multi-dropped using RS422/RS485. The new drive/indexer comes standard with Compumotor's Motion Architect, a Microsoft Windows-based development package that contains tools for easy creation and implementation of motion programs. The ZETA6104 uses Compumotor's 6000 Series command language, a language powerful enough to implement complex motion control applications and simple enough to not overwhelm the novice programmer. The ZETA6104 Drive/Indexer features two patent pending features: state-of-the-art Active (electronic) Damping that offers damping ratios up to 0.5, higher acceleration than conventional steppers, decreased motor vibration and increased usable torque, ard Electronic Viscosity for reduced settling time, increased slower speed smoothness and reduced noise. The ZETA6104 Drive is also the fastest and smallest microstepping drive of its type on the market. Designed for simple installation, the ZETA6104 offers connections on removable screw terminals and a standard 50-pin header for easy installation and cable routing without having to cut-off and re-attach a connector. The ZETA6104 Drive features compact dimensions of 8.8"(M x 3"(W) x 6.1"(D) providing an overall product package that has one of the smallest footprints on the market. The ZETA6104 Drive handles torques from 65 to 400 oz-in, and is capable of continuous speeds to 50 RPS (3,000 RPM).
