Planetary Mill Drives

Top Gear Transmissions has introduced a state-of-the-art technology Planetary Mill Drive for sugar industries. A result of constant R&D efforts, this heavy-duty range of planetary gearboxes in MD and SMD Series reduces down time, installation time and labour cost; and saves power and offers environment friendly, low cost, efficient and maintenance free solutions to sugar industries. These gearboxes are offered in two types. One is direct mounting to individual rollers with flanged coupling at output of the gearbox, mounted on roller with two tangential keyways and the torque is reacted by torque arm to take care of torque transmission; the motors generally used are flange mounting type. It has centralised lubrication system. The other type is foot mounted in construction with square end shaft and foot mounting motor. These gearboxes are also supplied with forced lubrication system, double pump, double filter with heat exchanger. The construction is very rigid in type and the final stage has got four planets made of nickel chrome and moly alloy steel that undergoes case carburising, hardening and roller bearings used at output shaft as well as planet gears. The shafts are made of high carbon chrome molybdenum alloy steel and internal gears of high carbon chrome moly alloy steel with hardening tempering and nitriding process. All the gears used are of ground finish to ensure efficient transmission and the body is made of cast steel.
