Modular Drive With Integrated Control System

Arnold Muller GmbH & KG of Germany offers Amkasyn, a modular and completely digitalized drive with integrated control system. It consists of AC servo motors, main spindle motors and inverter modules tuned for each other, integrable programmable interface controller (PLC), integrable numerical control and different interfaces. Simple plug-in modules expand the drive's capability with additional control functions, customized logic operations and/or NC operations. The modular design of the system makes it possible to reduce the number of components to only those required for specific user functions. Different drive configurations, optimized out of standard components result in customized and economic solutions. Compromises with superfluous hard or software become unnecessary. The integration of the control into the drive system results in a highly compact design, eliminating external interfaces between drives and controls. This greatly simplifies installation and reduces start-up costs. Amkasyn offers highly dynamic and extremely precise drive solutions for all requirements in manufacturing machinery and drive systems in general. Extensive drive functions like torque control, speed control with analogue and digital set points, closed loop position control, enhanced stepper-motor simulation, point-to point control, spindle orientation and synchronous control in different variations are provided. The fully digitalized system incorporates many interfaces such as analogue in/outputs, binary in/ outputs, square wave pulse in/outputs, RS232C, RS422, RS485, SERCOS interface and INTERBUS-S. Comfortable and user-friendly software for initialization and parameterization results in fast start-up by user personnel. Complex system diagnostic functions and plain text read-outs give information to the user about all operating conditions in the system. It offers a wide range of AC servo motors, linear drives, geared motors with digital inverter controls, integrated CNC/PLC control systems to meet variety of applications in the machine tool and industrial automation.
