Eddy Current Variable Speed Drives

Powermag manufactures eddy current adjustable speed drives from 0.75 kW to 90 kW power ratings, in both integral (with motor) and modular (without motor) design versions. These are operated by electromagnetic induction without any physical contact thus being wear-free. These eddy current adjustable speed drives offer a wide operating stepless speed range (1200 to 120 RPM). The prime mover (motor) starts always at off load, which reduces mains peak demands, and delivers high starting torque at any speed range. Design highlights: constant torque variable speed characteristic; constant cooling over whole speed range; continuous (s1) duty cycle; motor starts off load; high starting torque; simple rugged construction; simple installation; high performance with reliability; and long running life with nearly zero maintenance.
