Dc Drive System, Auto Web Tension Control

Puretronics offers an auto web tension control DC drive system which is ideally suited for continuous web processing, rotogravure flexographic printing machines, plastic film lamination, slitting, paper manufacturing, continuous statioriery, foil processing and adhesive tape machines. This auto web tension control unwinder/rewinder DC drive system with tachogenerator feedback provides continuously adjustable torque at the output shaft of the DC motor and by the potentiometer setting it can be programmed to make the tension to follow any desired pattern as the roll builds up like, taper tension. The system is available with a very wide speed range, wide horse power range and closed loop to ensure that the tension is controlled in spite of variation in process speed, acceleration and buildup. The build up computation is done by analogue computation. With this the surface of the material being wound remains untouched and the mechanical assembly at the winder/unwinder remains simple. Separate transducer or dancing roller is not required for tension measurement and control and also there is no need of rest-on arm for the build up computation. This system avoids telescopic winding, hence provides tight and transportable rolls. In printing, there is reduction in linear and side registration problem, web breakage, and wastage of processing material.
