Ac Servo Drive

Kirloskar Electric offers AC Servo Drive. This is available in two sizes, namely ACC and AC2C. Designed with the module concept, a drive system consists of a common power supply unit supplying to one or more AC servo amplifiers, which control the respective motors. Typical drive system consists of an autotransformer of suitable rating, a power supply unit (ACPS or AC2PS), one or more (up to 4) AC servo amplifiers, and one or more AC servomotors. Features of these drives include perfectly matched motor and controller, state of the art IGBT based power section, high operating frequency, modular construction, extensive protection circuitry, diagnostics and status indication, etc. The ACC and ACPS modules are designed to thermally isolate the power section from the control section, thereby allowing the control electronics to operate at a lower local ambient, thus increasing its reliability. To enable this, the heat sink of the power section is made to project outside the module. When the module is fitted in the control panel the heat sink is behind the mounting plate. Thus the hot air is restricted to one part of the panel keeping the rest of the panel at a lower local ambient. This feature is very useful in designing control panels for equipment expected to work in dusty and humid atmosphere, typical of machine shops and process industries.
