Thread Cutting Equipment

BILZ (LMT) has released a range of new products during. The new HSC thread cutting equipment is fast as lightning. The company is breaking every high-speed record with this recently developed thread cutting equipment, which was specially designed for extremely high cutting speeds of up to 100 m/min. This allows very short machining times to be achieved when tapping threads: the machining time for an M5 thread, with a thread depth of 1.5 x d, is a mere 0.2 seconds for the entire thread-cutting cycle. Although the speed of operation is enormously high, cooling agent pressures of up to 50 bar can easily be realised, thanks to a clever, new, zero-maintenance sealing system. The gear bearings have also been redesigned to cope with the increased rotation speeds.
