S M Industries manufactures Drilling machines from best selected and graded material characterised by excellent machine ability and high damping capacity. The spindle sleeve (ram) is made from MS, ground and guided in accurately honed head stock bore. The spindle shaft is made from EN8. Gears in 20 mm capacity machines are made from MS, which are hob cut, whereas gears in 25 and 32 mm capacity machines are made from best quality graded CI, which are helical and hob cut. Spindle gears in 20 mm capacity machine rotate in pulley fitted with gun metal bushing whereas in 25 and 32 mm capacity machines, spindle gear rotates within ball bearing provided in the pulley. The pillar is made from heavy-duty seamless pipe, which is accurately ground and hard chrome plated. All working parts are ground to maximum accuracy. Applications cover a varied range of operations like drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, lapping, etc.
