Drilling Machine, Radial Type

Arsun Engineers manufacture AR Series radial drilling machines. Model AR 49 has been designed to offer rigidity, precision and ease of operation. The machine can drill 40 mm in solid steel and 54 mm in cast iron. The drilling motor power is 1.5 kW. Its major parts, ie, baseplate, arm, column and column-sleeve are of well ribbed design and rigidly built to withstand static as well as severe dynamic loads. The drill head comprises of a compact gearbox and a feed box. All the shafts in the gearbox are splined shafts, fitted with heat-treated alloy steel gears and the whole assembly runs on anti-friction bearings in an oil bath. It offers 12 spindle speeds and 4 power feeds. The speed range is 47 to 1230 RPM and power feed is 0.05 to 0.2 mm per spindle revolution. The long ram travel (200 mm) allows deep holes to be drilled. The drill head traverse is 700 mm and arm travel is 580 mm. The drill head is mounted on two heavy duty ball bearings which moves on a hardend strip on the upper guideway. The drilling radius is 520/1220 mm. While double column construction offers effortless centering, the wide clamping area of the base plate (1100 x 800 mm) alongwith ample rigidity of the machine makes it suitable for drilling, tapping and reaming within its full working range and various positions of arm and drill head.
