Arsun's AP Series Drilling Machine AP 40 (piller type) has been designed to offer rigidity, precision and ease of operation. The machine can drill 40 mm in steel and 50 mm in cast iron. The drilling motor power is 1.5 kW. The machine has a robust structure with generously provided ribs and appropriate wall thickness for base-plate, arm, column and drill head. The drill head comprising a compact gearbox, is fitted with heat-treated alloy steel gears on splined shafts running on anti-friction bearings in an oil bath, which offers 8 spindle speeds and 3 power feeds. Speed range is 53 to 900 RPM and power feed is 0.05 to 0.15 mm/spindle rotation (higher feed also available). Spindle sleeve is made of alloy steel, hardened and ground. Other wear and tear prone parts like ram, pinion, splined shafts, pins, check-nuts are nitrided. The long ram travel (200 mm) allows depth holes to be drilled. It has 330 mm throat depth and its drill head is turnable 360_o_ around the column. The versatile machine can be used for operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, boring, etc.
