Jodhpur-based Mec Shot-Blasting Equipments Pvt Ltd manufactures roto blast tool - model IRBT - 196 that has rotating head, which rotates while propelling abrasive. The rotating head is fitted with tungsten carbide lined nozzles to suit pipe size, compressed air availability and pipe condition. This is a high productive tool to treat medium and large pipe diameter. A set of adjustable centring carriage is supplied along with the tool to handle pipes with ID ranging from 165 to 914 mm. This IRBT series has models ranging from 196A to 196C. The nozzle size of these models range from 6 to 10 mm with two numbers of nozzles each. The compressed air requirement at 90 psi is 250 to 600 cfm. All the three models - 196A to 196C have the dimension of 180 mm x 180 mm x 880 mm and the net weight is 15 kg. These remove stubborn rust, carbon, mill scale and old paint to get virgin metal surface, which is ideal for further coating. Rotation of pipes and electricity is not required. These are simple to operate and blast at a speed necessary to obtain desired degree of cleaning. Roto blast tools are supplied with centring collar and adjustable centring carriages to suit varied range of pipe diameters. These tools find applications in refineries, missile and rocket producers, water and gas companies, pipe liners, shipyard, cleaning stacks and chemical factories.
