Carborundum Universal offers gear grinding wheels that are made from special, high performance bond system, and a unique manufacturing process, tailored to meet the exacting requirements for gear grinding. The gear grinding wheels are used to perform finishing processes of gear wheels, remove considerable amount of metal after the heat treatment operation to obtain a pre-determined quality of gear finish. Done to meet the exacting requirements of form, dimension and surface texture, the gear grinding wheels the company offers, include single rib gear grinding wheels, multi-rib gear grinding wheels, hob-resharpening wheels, shaving cutters, and gear honing wheels. The single rib gear grinding wheels are made with special aluminium oxide grains combined with the company's unique bond system, which results in reduction in dressing depth and dressing frequency that increases the wheel life; increase in dresser life due to less wear; excellent profile retention, and lesser grinding cycle time. Could be used with conventional and CNC machines, the grinding wheels are available in various diameters, width and bores.
