The Generator requirement for the CT scanner is generally 75% more capacity than the CT scanner capacity for smooth functioning of CT Scanner in generator mode. Over-rating of generator, is because of current harmonics produced by CT scanner machine while scanning . If generator is not over-rated, the scans may get aborted in generator mode. So total electrical infrastructure becomes very costly and some times not feasible for a selected location.
