A switching-mode power supply (SMPS) is a power supply that provides the power supply, function through low loss components such as capacitors, inductors, high frequency transformers and the Mosfet switches that are in one of two states, on/ off. The advantage is that the switch dissipates very little power in either of these two states and power conversion can be accomplished with minimal power loss, which becomes highly efficient, compact and lightweight. Technical features: input voltage range - 180 - 260 V AC; input filtration - RFI, EMI provided; line and load regulation - less than 1%; over voltage protection - approx 105 to 110% of rated output (latched type); over current - charger is fully protected against short circuit and overload; reverse polarity protection - charge is fully protected protection against reversal of battery polarity, charger will not give the output till the batteries are connected with proper polarities; over temperature - unit is shutdown with excessive internal temperature (auto recovery); voltage adjustability - ±5% or 10 to 100% of rated output voltage on demand; ripple and noise - less than 1%; operating temperature - 0 to 50 degree C; and typical efficiency - 75%. Applications include generator batteries, control panel, forklift batteries, telecommunication, cellular mobile towers, switch tripping station floor cleaning machines.
