Modular UPS System For Medium & Large-Scale Data Centres

APC by Schneider Electric, a leading brand in the power protection category, has unveiled the new APC Symmetra® PX 250/500 kW 3-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system for the data centre market. Offering ultra-high efficiency, nearly silent operation and N+1 redundancy, the APC Symmetra PX 250/500kW is the world’s first truly modular UPS system that easily scales in 25 kW increments up to 500 kW. This new modular power solution is ideal for growth oriented high density and higher power installations, key to maximizing virtualisation efforts in the data centre. The APC Symmetra PX 250/500 kW offers 25 kW ultra-high efficiency double conversion online inverter power modules, extended life hot-swap batteries, a large touch-screen graphical user interface, and a side-mounted maintenance bypass panel with subfeed distribution. The new Symmetra PX offers maximum data centre configuration flexibility, allowing the unit to easily fit in the same row as IT equipment, or against a wall to save floor space. In the future the Symmetra PX 250/500 kW will be capable of being paralleled up to 2 MW. It is the ideal platform for business critical applications running in today’s medium to large data centres. The system is currently available in India in configurations scaling from 25 kW to 500 kW. This new solution is highly manageable through APC’s comprehensive management solutions, including InfraStruXure® Central. A browser accessible, user-friendly tool, InfraStruXure Central provides monitoring of power, cooling, and environmental management at the rack or room level.
