Sharana Industries as established a long history in the manufacture and development of premium grade, deep cycle batteries. As the company grew, so did its product line, building a tradition of quality and durability, specialising in traction and stationary batteries including applications like forklifts, tow trucks, stackers, pallet trucks, cranes, lifting platforms, generator starting batteries, golf carts, sweepers/scrubbers, marine, railway, electricity power station switch tripping units, UPS, inverters, solar cells and a range of other special application types. The company has a modern and well-equipped plant at Chennai and a strong domestic base plus a good export market. The range includes: traction batteries; stationary batteries; UPS batteries; electric vehicle batteries; solar batteries; special application batteries; and SMF batteries. Applications: stationary SST-series batteries are used as stand by DC power supply for power stations (switch tripping units) telecommunication systems, solar cell systems, wind energy system, etc; traction motive power batteries are used for electrically powered vehicles, forklift trucks, platform trucks/trolley, material handling equipment and electric vehicles; and SMF batteries are used for UPS systems, solar panels, wind energy, cellular towers, etc.
