Amara Raja Batteries Limited manufactures Brute batteries, a maintenance free valve regulated lead acid (MF-VRLA) traction battery catering to the motive power requirements of forklifts, pallet trucks, stackers and platform trucks. This is a high performance battery available in a wide range of capacities for different models of material handling equipment. It differs from "conventional flooded" lead acid batteries, and has the following features: zero-maintenance edge; no topping up of water in its lifetime therefore elimination of regular maintenance checks; leakage proof design therefore no surface contamination from escaping electrolyte; extreme temperature operation (-40? to 55?C); high energy density and explosion proof design; high temperature resistance; short circuit resistance factory charged. Unique design ensures that short circuits within the cells due to sludging are eliminated. Because of its spill-proof design, it can be stacked in any direction, even inverted and can work up to 15% more than conventional batteries on a single charge. Brute comes factory charged - it is also conducive to "opportunity charging" as, unlike conventional batteries, charge acceptance in Brute is constant across depth of discharge. This essentially means that it can accept charge for as low as 15 minutes and put equivalent charge back into the battery.
