Slideway Oils

ExxonMobil Lubricants offers Slideway Oils for slideways and guideways. This has to lubricate with a very thin film of oil between the slider and the slideway and must: ensure smooth and accurate movement, even with the slowest table speeds; provide good anti stick-slip action, protect slideways and guideways from corrosion; maintain accuracy of slideways by preventing wear, resist wash off by the cutting fluid; have excellent separability with water soluble cutting fluids; meet the major machine tool builder requirements; and dual-purpose applications (hydraulic oil and slideway oil). Mobil slideway oils and water soluble cutting fluids are designed to separate readily, optimise the performance of the slideway oil and meet the above requirements. Benefits from this properly are: improved stick-slip and chatter elimination, easy removal of Mobil slideway oil from the water soluble cutting fluid which helps to: increase coolant life, improve the working environment by reducing bad smells, improve concentration control, reduce costs, and reduce disposal costs. Mobil slideway oils and cutting fluids give better separability, resulting in smoother and more accurate operation of slideways. Better separability also allows easy removal of slideway oils from the coolant, improving coolant performance and life.
