Slotted Screen Baskets

Modern Engineering Works offers Slotted Screen Baskets in ‘Wedge-Wire’ design. Screen baskets in ‘wedge-wire’ design result in higher ‘open area’, leading to increased handling capacity of the screen. ‘Wedge-wire’ baskets have proved to be very effective for high efficiency and clogging free screening. The round cross section of stainless steel wires is transformed into a wedged profile by extruding it through a suitable die and the profiled wires are then looped around reinforcing ribs. The pitch between successive loops decides the slot width and the shape of the wedge decides the profile of the slot. The number of slots per square inch is controlled by using wires of appropriate diameter. Application: pulp and paper industry, coal mining, steel, cement, mineral processing, sugar, industrial waste, fertilizer, chemical industries and food processing. Advantages: very high mechanical strength, much higher open area, and much finer slots.
