Self-Cleaning Filter

Rapid progress in plant automation in recent years has given rise to the need of self-cleaning filters. Cleaning needs vary with fluid pressure, flow rate, viscosity, dust size and other factors. The cleaning system employed should be kept as simple as possible, yet be capable of ensuring effective cleaning. To meet this requirement Span Associates has developed wedge wire type self-cleaning filter to replace conventional edge-on filter. Main features are: no consumables, minimum maintenance cost; very low pressure drop, increased filtration efficiency; cleaning without interruption of flow; a wide range of filtration level and flow capacities; and minimum space requirement. The self cleaning filter control system ensures automatic cleaning of the element and thereby permits automatic or remote control of filter operation.
