Filteredge offers Centrifugal Oil Cleaners. It consists of three major sub assemblies - the base, rotor and cover. The cover contains the rotor and base. The rotor assembly has a removable bowl to facilitate easy contaminant removal. Dirty oil from the pressure point on the engine enters the side inlet of the centrifuge base into the rotor chamber through the hollow spindle where it is evenly distributed. The rotor assembly fills up with oil and is pressurised. The oil exits the rotor chamber through twin tangentially opposed nozzles at the bottom. This causes a reverse direction rotor spin, directly proportional to the inlet oil pressure. The resulting centrifugal force throws the dirt particles in the oil on the inner wall of the rotor bowl in a compact easy to remove mass. The clean oil leaves the rotor and enters the base. The oil is expelled through twin jets which spin the rotor at speeds > 4000 RPM finally leaving the centrifuge through the outlet at the bottom of the base where it is returned to the engine crank case/ sump, at a point above the oil level. The base also facilitates easy fixing of the whole centrifuge to the engine. Applications: engine - automotive, marine, power generation, construction, agricultural, locomotive, mining; and industrial - honing, reaming, cable drawing, grinding, quenching, hydraulic, nut/ bolt forming.
