Valves, Intrinsically Safe

Atos S.p.a offers Intrinsically Safe Valves. Intrinsically safe electrohydraulics is currently used in FPSO vessels (floating production, storage and offloading), LNG carriers, mining and in every typical applications in intrinsic safety areas. Atos makes available a comprehensive range of intrinsically safe on-off directional, pressure and flow control valves able to comply with the highest safety standards required by the above applications. The photo shows pressure and directional control valves – direct and pilot operated – also available in leak free cartridge execution, plus the intrinsically safe barrier specifically designed to operate with Atos valves. “Intrinsically safe” specification is based on the principle of limiting the energy of electric circuits in environments with hazardous atmosphere. To limit the max input current, the solenoids must be powered through specific “safety barriers” in order to avoid that electrical or thermal sources could cause the ignition of a specific hazardous atmospheric mixture also in a breakdown situation. Atos intrinsically safe valves and barriers are certified according to ATEX 94/9/CE, protection modes: Ex II 1 G Ex ia IIC T6 or IIA T5 for surface plants with gas or vapours environment, category 1, zone 0,1 and 2; and Ex I M2 Ex ia, solenoid group I for surface, tunnel and mining plants.
