Gate Valves, Cast Steel

Steam & Mining industries offers Swastik brand gate valves that provide the least flow resistance when fully opened and less stem thrust to shut-off compared to globe valves. These features make the gate valves perfectly serviceable for larger pipelines and higher pressure installations. There are two choices of gate valves: wedge gate type and parallel slide gate type. The body-bonnet connections are normally of bolted bonnet type for lower pressure, ring joint type for normal pressure, and pressure seal or welded bonnet type for higher pressure. Most gate valves have O, S and Y type with non-rotating stem. Stems are of special hard facing, which keeps them from seizing and scoring. Seats are designed in screwed, welded or integral type, precisely machined so as to prevent leakage. Back seat is carefully designed so as to protect the gland packing and permits repacking under pressure and to further fill the gland packing in the chamber. Stuffing box is provided with ample depth and dimensions and filled with proper gland packing for each service. Special bonnet and yoke are designed to meet each particular service. Rising stem indi-cates the opening position of valve. The valves are widely used in all major projects.
