Diaphragm Valves, Weir Type

Designed and manufactured to comply with British Standard BS 5156-1974, weir type diaphragm valves were formerly referred to as ?Saunders Patent-type? after P K Saunders, developer of the basic design. Advantages:

• Streamlined flow ? streamlined flow passage of the valve body is free of pockets, grooves or other crevices, assuring full flow efficiency and self-cleaning action; tight shut-off ? unique diaphragm and weir method of operation affords positive, leakproof closure
• No stem packing or stuffing box ? diaphragm seals off valve stem and other parts from the flow, eliminating the need for stem packing or stuffing box
• Simplified construction ? the valve body assembly has only three component parts
• Body, diaphragm and bonnet, which is adaptable to any comparable size valve body regardless of body material
• Easy diaphragm replacement ? installation of a new diaphragm is accomplished by simply removing the bonnet bolts, lifting off the bonnet assembly, replacing the diaphragm, and reassembling. It is not necessary to remove the body from the line.
