Cavity-free stainless steel sampling valves

ITT Richter offers sampling valve PA/S for taking samples of aggressive and pure media: It excels through its simple and safe handling, cavity-free design and hermetically tight sealing. The valve is designed with no cavities, areas with poor flow such as back-cuts or behind seat rings were systematically avoided. The tapered valve seat prevents residues and the aggregation of solids and thus ensures representative sampling. The PA/S is used to take samples of corrosive and pure or slightly solids-laden liquids up to pressures of 16 bar and temperatures of up to 200?C. The medium only comes into contact with the body (stainless steel investment cast 1.4435" 316 L) and the bellows made of corrosion-resistant, anti-adhesive PTFE. This heavy-duty PTFE bellows provides the product chamber with a hermetic seal and owing to its wall thickness of a good 2.5 mm the valve can even be deployed for highly permeating media. The travel stop can be adjusted from outside, thus permitting finely metered sampling. The closing force can be increased at any time in the event of inadequate sealing action in the seat/plug area, eg, if sealing surfaces are damaged. The spring-loaded lever (spring closes) acts as a "dead man"s safety switch" and thus is another safety feature. For low-viscosity media and low operating pressures, a special plug design is alternatively available. To ensure representative sampling, only fresh medium is taken directly from the medium flow. This dispenses with prior rinsing and there is no fear of residues forming in the valve. The bottle connection with a thread is made of modified pure PTFE. A connection possibility on the side is provided for venting or as an overflow. On request, a stainless steel protective cabinet with safety pane increases safety for the staff. The sample can also be taken automatically using a pneumatic or electric actuator.
