Dead-Weight Testers

Ravika offers a wide range of dead weight testers used in cali-bration of pressure gauges and other sensing, transmitting and recording pressure instruments. The testers make use of the relationship between pressure acting on the known area of a vertically free floating piston producing a force balanced by known dead weight. The calibration is done against instruments of accuracy 10.025% and 10.07% certified and characterized by Na-tional Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, using cross float method. Main component of the tester is screw pump to generate pressure in the circuit of adequate capacity operated by a spoked handle which permits easy and accurate setting of pressure. High pres-sure dead weight testers are provided with a lever operated priming pump as well. Free piston assembly of special steel, hardened, tempered, ground and lapped to accurate size and very fine surface finish, provides true floating action. Set of weights directly marked in convenient values of pressure and easily stacked on the weight carrier which is screwed on to the free piston is incorporated. It is mounted on a sturdy base plate provided with levelling screws. The entire circuit is covered by a sheet metal cover.
