Single Screw Extruder for High Density Foam Sheet from LDPE

Malik Engineers manufacture Single Screw Extruder with equipment and dies for producing High Density Foam Sheet from LDPE with typical density of 0.25-0.4g/cc. The lowering of density reduces the weight of the product due to formation fine cells in the structure of the foamed product. It is designed with Physical Blowing Agent (PBA) injection into the molten polyethylene, in the specially designed extruder by means of high pressure metering pumps. The Blowing agent is CO2 which is injected at very high pressure of approx. 250-300 Kg/cm2 in the extruder and this ensures good mixing of the PBA with the molten polymer and also maximum solubility, which help to attain density as low as 0.25g/cc in the final product.

The Extrusion line comprises of a single screw extruder fitted with nitrided screw & barrel, AC motor drive with inverter panel for smooth speed control of screw, heaters, coolers and a “T” Die with coat hanger manifold for extruding the sheet product, Blowing agent Injection equipment comprising of a precision duplex metering pump with variable speed drive, a 3-roll chill roll set, idler rollers with side trimming, automatic winder for winding the foamed sheet & control panels. It is available in standard screw size of 65mm with hourly throughput capacity of 50 Kgs/hour. Standard product width is 800mm.
