JATO Precision Industries Inc offers high speed open centre air cylinder, Model JAL846-D double-piston air cylinder. Air cylinder technology is the future. Compared to hydraulic cylinders, which now are major option in the industry, air cylinders own more advantages such as higher performance and lower operating cost. Air cylinders are powered by compressed air, which means saving cost on hydraulic pumps and tanks. Air cylinders also have extremely low temperature rising since the viscosity of the air is about 1/1000 of the hydro fluid, making them better solution of rear-actuators for high-accuracy NC machines since there would not be thermal distortion problems to be worried about, further reducing cost on any cooling equipment. This model adopts the company?s patented air cylinder technology, providing unmatchable 2300 kgf (5060 lbf) pushing/pulling force under 7 kg/cm? (100 psi) input air pressure. The speed is up to 5500 RPM with very low temperature rise. JAL846-D also has built-in safety check valve, ensuring 100% operating force even if the input air stream is cut off. More models of this series are due for release later in 2008, including JAL636 6? air cylinder, which is specially designed for actuating collet chucks or precision air powered chucks.
